OGO Higuera Rio Bravo - Morgan Stallion A handsome and correct young fellow with an excellent pedigree of Western Working Family and Brunk. His sire's heritage is that of all working Morgans, both through the Brunk lines and the WWF portion. Bravo's dam is pure WWF, coming from many generations of working ranch horses mostly from California, but also from other areas. Her pedigree complements that of Bravo's sire's having much of the same old Brunk and WWF breeding back behind the first generations. On both sides of Bravo's pedigree, the old horses are very close up, bringing to today the rich heritage of these true Morgans of the past. It would be difficult to find a pedigree richer then this one and one which is suitable for the preservationist breeder or the sports breeder or anyone who wishes to breed Morgans in the tradition of the true versatile Morgans.

OGO Higuera Rio Bravo
Higuera Bandido X Circle H Merlita
Chestnut, foaled 2003
Bred by: Old Growth Oak Morgans
Hollister, California

Higuera Bandido, a 1974 chestnut stallion was bred by Elizabeth and Catherine Richards of San Jose, CA. He has sired ( to date) at least twenty nine registered Morgan foals, as well as Morabs, Pintos, and just plain good half Morgans out of non Morgan mares. He is well known for his kind disposition, excellent temperament, and solid conformation all throughout his local California area. Bandido was sired by Celebration , out of Countess of Copper. Celebration was bred by Helen Greenwalt of Pawnee, Illionois. He was a chestnut stallion of renown and great beauty. He had a remarkably smooth topline, great balance of body, and a “look at me” attitude. Celebration was sired by Bonfire and was out of the stunning mare Jubilee Joy. Jubilee Joy was a foundation mare for Stuart Hazard's Funquest Morgans. Celebration and many of his siblings were well known show horses in their day. It is little wonder Celebration and his son Higuera Bandido are as well regarded as they have been. Celebration represents a blending of Old Midwestern blood, best represented on his pedigree by horses bred by JC Brunk, in addition to bloodstock of the LU Sheep Company, the Hiebert Brothers of Kansas, and even the breeding of Richard Sellman.
Celebration sired thirty nine registered Morgan foals. Bonfire his sire, was bred by the LU Sheep Company , his sire was the very prolific Senator Graham bred by Elmer Brown of Halstead, Kansas. Senator Graham was the sire of one hundred eighteen Morgan foals. Senator Graham was named for the gentleman who helped Ms. Greenwalt recover him from Elmer Brown who had his sire Senator Knox from the US Remount Program. Senator Graham had a varied career during his lifetime. He was a working cowhorse while at the LU Sheep Company, then a many titled Show Horse in his later years. His sire Senator Knox bred by JC Brunk, was a Champion Stallion at the Minnesota and Iowa State Fairs of 1918 before going into the Remount Program where he served from 1924 to 1939. Senator Graham's blood is found today in a very large portion of the Morgan breed, everywhere from Working Western stock to Show horse stock. His sire Senator Knox was an own son of the famous horse Knox Morgan and out of the equally famous mare Senata. JC Brunk bought Knox Morgan at the St Louis Worlds Fair in 1904 , where he was Grand Champion Morgan Stallion. Mr. Brunk had brought his mare Senata to that same venue, and she went Grand Champion Morgan mare . Senata was the pride and joy of JC Brunk's program. Senator, her sire carried a tail male line to Woodbury Morgan and the rest being lines to Sherman Morgan through Billy Root, Royal Morgan, and the Batchelder Horse. Knox Morgan was sired by Mountaineer Morgan out of the Augustus Dunlop Mare by Sagadahoc. Knox Morgan typifies Classic Ancient Vermont breeding. Mountaineer Morgan was sired by the Vincent Horse by the Shedd Horse by Vermont Morgan Champion by Sherman Morgan.
The dam of Mountaineer Morgan was the George D. Chandler mare- she goes back to Sherman Morgan in tail mail descent through Black Hawk and Billy Root, while on her dam's side she goes back to Woodbury Morgan through Gifford and her third dam was by imported Dey of Algiers. The Augustus Dunlop mare also went back to both Sherman and Woodbury, to Sherman through Black Hawk and Rockingham, and to Woodbury through Putnam Morgan and the Partridge Mare by Woodbury. She also has the blood of The Partridge Mare by Sherman.
The dam of Celebration, sire of Higuera Bandido, was Jubilee Joy. Jubilee Joy was sired by Flyhawk out of Sentola – a full sister to Jubilee King. The Flyhawk Sentola cross was considered a Golden Cross producing in addition to Jubilee Joy, Warhawk, Stetson, Sentana, Top Flight, and The Airacobra. All very well known and highly regarded Morgans who have had a wide and deep influence on the breed. Flyhawk was sired by Go Hawk by Sunny Hawk by Morgan Star by Goldfinder going back to Sherman Morgan again primarily through Black Hawk, but also carrying a line to Woodbury through Gifford . Goldfinder carried an American Trotting Registry number and Morgan Star was his only registered Morgan foal. The dam of Morgan Star was Thistle by Star of The West out of Fandango. Star of The West was by Flying Cloud by Black Hawk- another Sherman Morgan line. Star of The West's dam was Gray Fanny whose dam was a daughter of Black Hawk. The dam of Fandango was Lady Westlake. Both Lady Westlake's sire and dam were by Black Hawk by Sherman. The story goes that JC Brunk traded a Short Horned Cow ( for which Cotton Hill Farm was very well known) to Mr. Schlotfeldt ( Go Hawk's breeder) for Go Hawk. Considering the demand for big, black Morgans and all the Sherman ,through Black Hawk, that blood Go Hawk carried, it is little surprise the trade was made. Go Hawk had the Black Hawk to Sherman blood in abundance, not only on his sire line, but through his dam- Bombo. Bombo was by Hawkins by Hercules by Herod- going back to Sherman there, as well as through her paternal grand dam- Gipsey by Brown Flying Cloud. Gipsey brought in a line to Golddust – the very fast trotter who stood in Kentucky and who went back to Woodbury Morgan. But Gipsey also carried lines back to Black Hawk and one to Royal Morgan, another famous Sherman son. along with the equally famous Sherman son- Billy Root. Bombo's dam was Goldie by Hero of Manilla. Now, Hero of Manilla is Sherman Morgan on his top side, but on his dam's side he carried Bulrush blood . His dam was Morrill Queen by Winnebago Chief out of Olive by Monagram. Winnebago Chief was a tail male Bulrush horse with more Gifford Morgan than Black Hawk on his dam's side. Olive , dam of Morrill Queen carried more Bulrush blood and also lines to Sherman through Black Hawk and the Batchelder horse. She also carried a line to Revenge by Justin Morgan. Goldie was the dam of Bombo, she was a crème mare sired by Morgan Paw Paw Chief, a grandson of Revenge by Justin Morgan and out of an Arabian mare. This is Flyhawk's top male sire line. His dam, Florette was by Allen King who was a full brother to Penrod, sire of Jubilee King. Florette was out of the mare Florence Chandler, a daughter of Knox Morgan and Senata. Both Florette and Florence Chandler were bred by JC Brunk, and were considered to be among his very best broodmares. Florence Chandler died young in a accident, leaving only 2 daughters and one son. Florette's bloodlines go back to Sherman through Daniel Lambert and Jubilee De Jarnette, with three lines to Woodbury and one to Bulrush through Young Green Mountain on her sire side.
Countess of Copper, dam of Higuera Bandido, was by Kings Ransome out of Princess Sonfield. She has a line to Flyhawk through her sire as Kings Ransome was by Dickies Pride by Flying Jubilee out of Juvina. Juvina brought in the Jubilee King blood and more Knox Morgan through her sire Knox Reade. She also brought in the blood of Charles Reade, who was a triple registered stallion- Morgan, Saddlebred and Trotting Register due to his very fast race time at the trot. Charles Reade was a Sherman bred stallion and appears on both sides of Juvina's pedigree. Senata is also there on her pedigree and Daniel Lambert via Chetco and Ben Franklin are present. Aside from that line – the very top sire line of the pedigree of Countess of Copper , the bulk of her pedigree is US Government Farm breeding. Kings Ransome's dam was Gay Jipsey by Gay Mac out of Jipsey Allen by Tehachapi Allen out of Jipsey L by Linsley . Gay Mac by Mansfield out of Dewdrop by General Gates out of Ellen. Ellen going back to Sherman Morgan through Black Hawk and Daniel Lambert. Back to Bulrush Morgan through Young Benedict Morrill, with a line back to Woodbury Morgan through Gifford , his son. Jipsey Allen was by Tehachapi Allen who was by Querido out of Tab. Querido was a full brother to Mansfield. Tab his dam was bred by Richard Sellman of Texas, her sire was Texas Allen , and her dam was Birdie by Major Antoine. Tab was very much part of the heart of the Sellman breeding program.. She went back to Headlight Morgan, often used by Sellman. She carried all three sons of Justin Morgan- Sherman, Woodbury, and Bulrush- with Bulrush being the strongest contributor.
Dawn Mist was the dam of Dickie's Pride. She was by Fillmore out of Quita. Fillmore was by Mansfield out of Narissa. Narissa was by Troubadour of Willowmoor out of Ellen who was the dam of Dewdrop the dam of Gay Mac. Troubadour of Willowmoor was a son of Troubadour by Jubilee De Jarnette by Daniel Lambert out of the famous Lady De Jarnette. Fanny 2nd, dam of Troubadour of Willowmoor went back to Ethan Allen II, and hence to Black Hawk and Sherman Morgan.
Quita was by Highview King out of Luxury. Highview King was by King De Jarnette by Jubilee King out of Sentola. The dam of King De Jarnette was Deura. Deura was by Senator Knox out of Penala. Senator Knox was by Knox Morgan out of Senata. While Penala was by Penrod ( sire of Jubilee King) out of Galva by Billy Herod out of Chista. Galva's contribution was mainly that of Sherman Morgan coming through The Billies – Billy Root, Billy Bodette, Ben Franklin and Black Hawk. Luxury , dam of Quita was by Night Tide out of Mallow. Both Quita and Luxury were bred by the LU Sheep Co, of Worland, Wyoming. Night Tide was by Tiffany out of Glenalla. Tiffany was by Mansfield out of Klyona. Night Tide was bred by JC Brunk who traded the stallion Allen King to the US Government Farm in exchange for Tiffany and the mare Juliette. Glenalla was by Allen King ( full brother to Penrod) out of Ruby Reade. Ruby Reade was by Charles Reade out of Ruby who was by Jubilee De Jarnette out of the Chetco daughter Bess Franklin, who took her surname from Chetco's sire Ben Franklin. Charles Reade was by Woodward's Ethan Allen out of Princess Dagmar by Daniel Lambert. Woodward's Ethan Allen was a full brother to Daniel Lambert. So while we call this Government breeding it really in essence is Sherman Morgan breeding, enhanced by General Gates being a tail male Sherman Morgan stallion.
Mallow the dam of Luxury is a slightly different story. She was by Linspar out of Larkspur by Flyhawk. Linspar was by Linsley out of Sparbelle by Sparhawk out of Donbelle. Sparhawk went back to Sherman through Herod and Daniel Lambert via Ben Franklin, he also went back to Woodbury Morgan through Gifford and the mare Cub. He carried in addition the blood of St. L by Rancho by Francois Bourke Horse- who was a Canadian. On his dam's side Rancho had the blood of The Hawkins Horse by Justin Morgan.
Donbelle, dam of Sparbelle, was considered Ancient Vermont breeding- going back to Sherman through Billy Roberts, Billy Root, Billy Folsum and Royal Morgan via Charlie Watson. Donbelle's Woodbury Morgan blood was equally impressive and in quantity from Gifford via Vermont Morgan, and Hale's Green Mountain Morgan. This is Linspar's side of the pedigree. Mallow brought in Flyhawk – being his granddaughter out of Larkspur . Larkspur's dam Eula was by Morgan Patch a grandson of Dan Patch. Eula was another LU Sheep Co. bred mare.
Princess Sonfield , the dam of Countess of Copper was sired by Sonfield and out of Princess Sabab. Sonfield was by Mansfield out of Quietude. Quietude was sired by Troubadour of Willowmoor and out of Ruth by Renard. Troubadour of Willowmoor was in turn sired by Troubadour, an own son of Jubilee De Jarnette out of Bird Pepper. Troubadour was bred by CX Larrabee of Home Park, Montana, and was Oregon State Fair Grand Champion Stallion in 1906. His son Troubadour of Willowmoor was purchased and used by the US Government Morgan Farm, where Quietude was foaled. Bird Pepper was sired by Prospect AMHA # 122. Prospect was bred by Dr. E.K. Moody of Eminence, Ky and later owned by C.X. Larrabee. Prospect was sired by Blood Chief by Blood's Black Hawk, his dam was Susan Jones a pacer by Ashland Chief by Mambrino Chief. Her dam was Kate by Blood's Black Hawk. Prospect himself was a double registered horse, both in the Morgan and ATR registry. ATR ( American Trotting Registry) by dint of his race time . Bird Pepper's dam was Lady Blackwood. Lady Blackwood's sire was Blackwood, a Trotting Registered horse, but her dam was the Morgan mare Lady Harper who was by Boaz out of Wilful. Boaz was by Superb the 16 hand son of Ethan Allen 50, son of Black Hawk by Sherman. Lady Harper's dam Wilful was by Colonel Moulton , a son of Daniel Lambert out of Jenny sired by The Bigelow Horse by Sherman Black Hawk by Black Hawk by Sherman. Jenny's dam was the TB mare Magnum Bonum by the stallion Magnum Bonum who was the third of that name going back to Cade by the Godolphin Arabian. No doubt these very early outcrosses to TB and ATR racing bloodlines brought in a great deal of speed at a time when speed in Morgans was highly desired.
Ruth by Reynard, dam of Quietude, was another mare of Ancient Vermont breeding bought by the US Government Farm as a broodmare. Ruth's pedigree goes back to Sherman Morgan over and over, with a few crosses to Woodbury and one scarce line to him from Morgan Talley Ho , the others being through Gifford Morgan. There are more than a couple of mares on her pedigree given as daughters of Justin Morgan. Reynard was by Billy Roberts out of Roberta by Billy Folsum- both lines going back to Billy Root by Sherman. Reynard's dam was Topsy by Billy Bodette. Billy Bodette carried back to Sherman though at least two crosses to Royal Morgan, as well as crosses to Billy Root. There is a cross to Woodbury here through Hale's Green Mountain Morgan by Gifford. Ruth's dam was Laura Jay and in contrast to Topsy, Laura Jay carried Ethan Allen III as well as a line to Gifford – again through Hale's Green Mountain Morgan. She also has Roberta behind her and Mountaineer as well. Princess Sonfield's dam- Princess Sabab was bred by WR Hearst at San Simeon, CA. Her Morgan dam was Princess Allen bred by Roland G. Hill, of CA. Princess Allen was by Querido out of the Sellman bred mare Tab. Querido by Bennington out of Artemsia was US Government Farm bred, and a full brother to Mansfield, Canfield, Ulysses, Redfern and Willys. Tab was by Texas Allen out of Birdie by Major Antoine by Meteor Jr by Meteor by Young Rix a grandson of Black Hawk Morgan. Birdie's dam was Dolly Bonner by Old Jordan out of the Mark Bonner Mare. Texas Allen, was by Easter Allen Morgan out of Bessie Morgan by Flying Morrill. Easter Allen Morgan was by Headlight Morgan and also out of Bessie Morgan. Tab represents the very heart of the Sellman breeding program, all three major Justin Morgan sons are here . Bulrush being represented by Flying Morrill , Woodbury by Hale's Green Mountain Morgan and the incomparable Headlight Morgan , Sherman through Billy Root , and Black Hawk.
The Arabian breeding behind Princess Sabab is no less impressive. Sabab her sire is a double grandson of Deyr, a very, early imported stallion direct from the desert, and one of the early Davenport Arabians -which was a small group of horses ( twenty seven) of the highest caste known in the deserts, bought directly from their Bedouin owners, and who were bred only within their own group- with no outcrosses. It is said that Princess Sabab was a magnificent mare, and WR Hearst's intent in using this line of Arabians may have in part been to strengthen the qualities of endurance and beauty of his Morgans. This is only supposition on my part. This is the top side of the pedigree of OGO Higuera Rio Bravo.

His dam , Circle H Merlita was b red by the Hunnewill Ranch of Eastern California and Nevada. She represents one of the last of an era- a time when Morgans were bred by working ranchers for work on the ranch. Merlita is very heavy in the bloodlines of Richard Sellman of Texas, Roland Hill of California, Elmer Brown of Kansas. She also has the bloodlines of the Brunks from Illinois. Besides being one of that bygone era, Merlita is unique in that she is of true Working Western breeding BUT without any Flyhawk blood. Merlita was sired by Rockquests Blackjack and out of Circle H Pita. For OGO Morgans Merlita has produced three foals, in addition to her seven previous foals – making her not only unique but a prolific, productive mare. Rockquests Blackjack, her sire was by Sonora Spar. Blackjack's dam was Rockquest Buddy Lee. Sonora Spar and his sire Lee Spar were also bred by the Hunnewill Ranch. They were both working ranch horses- sound, sane and stable. Lee Spar's sire was Dude Spar, bred by Roland G. Hill. Lee Spar's dam was Iva Lee Field. Dude Spar was by Sparbeau, bred by Elmer Brown. Dude Spar's dam was Sallie Ann, also bred by Roland Hill. Sparbeau was by Linsley out of Sparbelle. Linsley by General Gates out of the Headlight Morgan daughter Sunflower Maid. Headlight Morgan was a cornerstone of Richard Sellman's breeding program. In three generations the bloodlines of the US Government Farm transformed into the foundation bloodlines of what we know as Working Western Morgans. Sparbelle, dam of Sparbeau was by Sparhawk out of Donbelle. Donbelle was of Ancient Vermont lineage, going back to Gifford, Black Hawk and Red Robin by Justin Morgan. Sparhawk went back to Sherman through Herod, and back to Daniel Lambert through Chetco by Ben Franklin. Linsley was tail male Sherman on his top line through General Gates, and through his dam, Sunflower Maid and the Headlight Morgan, he went back to Woodbury but also he went back to BlackHawk on this line through the Stephen Dow mare. Sunflower Maid's dam was Fanny P, and she brought in the blood of Bulrush Morgan through Morrill via Winnebago Chief and Flying Morrill. BlackHawk and Gifford were also present on her pedigree. Sallie Ann , Dude Spar's dam was by Querido by Bennington out of Artemsia. Sallie Ann's dam was Sonna, bred by Richard Sellman. Sooner was her sire. Sooner was by The Headlight Morgan out of Nannie L by The Admiral. This is classic Sellman breeding. The Admiral was by Jubilee De Jarnette out of the Winnebago Chief daughter Morrill Queen. Nannie L was out of Peggy A by Major Antoine by Meteor Jr. this line goes back to Black Hawk Morgan. Peggy A's dam was Brown Gordon, who was by Major Gordon by Octoroon Jr. This line is heavy in Bulrush bloodlines with a line to Woodbury as well. Nancy was the dam of Sonna, she was also by The Admiral out of Mollie Gorden by Major Gorden out of an Octoroon daughter. This is Lee Spar's sire side, his dam was Iva Lee Field. She was by Sonfield out of Iva. Sonfield was by Mansfield out of Quietude, a daughter of Troubadour of Willowmoor. More Sherman breeding here. Iva was a half sister to Sallie Ann, being by Querido but out of Luala by the Allen King son Pat Allen. Luala was out of Hemala by Headlight Morgan out of Baby Lu. Baby Lu was by The Admiral out of Emma Antoine by Major Antoine out of the Major Gordon daughter Topsy. Hemala was Sellman bred and indeed represents his exact breeding program. She was an extremely prolific mare, producing seventeen foals. Rosalie Field was the dam of Sonora Spar. She was also by Sonfield and out of Deana A by Querido.. Deana A was bred by Roland Hill. Her dam was Redoasy, by Red Oak out of Red Daisy by The Admiral. Redoasy was bred by Richard Sellman. Red Oak was by General Gates out of another Ancient Vermont bred mare- Marguerite by White River Morgan. Marguerite was of strong Black Hawk blood with a Woodbury line. Red Daisy's dam was different. She was indeed by The Admiral, and bred by Richard Sellman. Her dam was an early Sellman mare going back to Octoroon, but her sire was an imported Cleveland Bay coach horse from Yorkshire, England.
Rockquest Buddy Lee, dam of Rockquest's Blackjack was by Funquest Buddy Lee. He was by Linsley Lee by Felix Lee by Allen Lee by Jubilee King. Linsley Lee was bred by the Chilocco Agricultural School of Oklahoma. Linsley Lee on his sire side carried not on Jubilee King blood, but the bloodlines of Mansfield, Jubilee De Jarnette, Go Hawk through Allestra, ( but no Flyhawk), the Knox Morgan, Ben Franklin by Daniel Lambert and the very fast bloodline of Charles Reade through Mrs. Lewis . Mrs. Lewis was also the dam of McAllister by Jubilee King, Knox Reade, Ruby De Jarnette, Stareda, plus three others. Mrs. Lewis was out of Bess Franklin , a Ben Franklin granddaughter. Linbar was the dam of Linsley Lee, she was a foundation mare for Funquest Morgans. She was by Barberry by Night Tide out of Betty Barr by Penrod ( sire of Jubilee King) out of Daisy Knox by the Knox Morgan out of Daisy De Jarnette. Linbar was out of Elberty Linsley by Linsley out of Dolly D. Dolly D was by Dude Hudson out of Donbelle. Allan's Fancy L was the dam of Funquest Buddy Lee. She was another foundation mare for Funquest Morgans. She was by
Tehachapi Allen out of the Sellman bred mare Tab. Tehachapi Allen was by Querido. Tab was by Texas Allen, a Headlight Morgan grandson who was out of a Flying Morrill daughter. Tab's dam was Birdie by Major Antoine out of Dolly Bonner by Old Jordan. Maggie Linsley was the dam of Allan's Fancy L. She was by Linsley out of May Hudson. May Hudson, like Linsley, was a Headlight Morgan grandchild. May Hudson's sire was Dude Hudson, going back to Sherman through Billy Root, Captain Herod, and Ethan Allen. May Hudson's dam was Hazel S. by Headlight Morgan. Rim Rocket was the dam of Funquest Buddy Lee. Rim Rocket was by the highly regarded stallion Condo, son of the handsome using stallion Congo. Congo was bred by J. Roy Brunk, his sire was Tarron by Tiffany by Mansfield and his dam was Black Dee. Black Dee was by Herodon by Go Hawk out of Galva. Black Dee's dam was Sentola, full sister to Jubilee King. Galva was strongly Sherman bred, carrying Ben Franklin, Herod and Billy Bodette. Condo, sire of Rim Rocket was no less strongly Sherman bred. He was out of May Burger by Squire Burger by Juzan by Jubilee King. May Burger's dam was African Maid, by Allen King out of Francis Knox by Knox Morgan out of Bess Franklin by Ben Franklin. Rim Rocket's dam was Mon Heir Zoran, out of the Pacific North West and sired by Sun Dust, one of a very few descendants of both Quintessence by Jubilee De Jarnette and Golddust who was a tail male Woodbury Morgan and known for both is great beauty and his very great speed. Sun Dust's dam was Adam's Monterey by Monterey by Mansfield out of Montana Sunshine by De Jarnette Jr. by Jupiter by Jubilee De Jarnette. Montana Sunshine traced to Sherman and Woodbury on her dam's side through Herod and Billy Bodette while Monterey's dam- Scotanna traced to Sherman through Motion and Lambert Chief. Scotanna was by Scotland by General Gates. Mon Heir Zoran's dam was Rozan- a daughter of Agazizz out of Rozelle. Agazizz was by Juzan by Jubilee King, and out of Gizea by Go Hawk out of Liza Jane. Liza Jane was by Knox Morgan out of Double Daisy by Allan Franklin out of the Billy Bodette daughter Daisy. Double Daisy's dam was Senata out of that same Billy Bodette daughter Daisy, and sired by Senator. Juzan was by Jubilee King and out of Liza Jane. Making Rozan strong bred indeed. Her dam Rozel was by Romanesque , bred by Richard Sellman, by Red Oak out of Mariah K by Headlight Morgan out of The Admiral's daughter Sweet Marie. Rozel's dam was Rocky Hazel by Rockwood out of Hazel L by Linsley. Hazel L was bred by Elmer Brown. Rockwood was by Bennington out of Carolyn. Hazel L.'s dam was Hazel S by Headlight Morgan out of Diamond who goes back to Black Hawk Morgan.
Circle H Pita was the dam of Circle H Merlita and she was by Condo out of Pepita by Sonfield . Pepita was out of Kathleen McCavlin who was by Barney Hudson whose bloodlines are primarily those of Sherman Morgan through Dart, and Dude and Fred Hudson. Her dam however was Miga- like Kathleen McCavlin a mare known for her beauty and her breeding strength. Miga was by Winterset out of Cola by Morgan Star. This is the same blood that is behind Red Correll and is old Midwestern breeding. Winterset was by Captain Jack out of Judea, and Cola was by Morgan Star out of Hebrona Morgan. This line is almost all pure Sherman breeding- they were big and they were known for their strength, speed, and substance.

It is little surprise that OGO Higuera Rio Bravo is proving to be a strong breeding stallion, with the strength of the bloodlines behind him I would be most surprised if he were not . His heritage is rich in the very foundations of what we call Working Western Family, he comes from some of the most tested and proven breeding programs within the Morgan breed, and should have the ability to pass the best of that breeding on.
