RETIRED
|
This aged stallion is one that breeders should not ignore as he brings down such valuable blood to today; blood that is rare and hard to come by. He brings two close crosses to the good Easter Vermont blood, being the product of a grandson being bred to a daughter of that horse. This is the classic inbreeding that works. Easter Vermont was by the great Red Vermont by Jubilee King. What part of this pedigree that is not Brunk is Western Working Family, most of that going back to Richard Sellman’s breeding, and one line back to old Montana breeding including the Baroque stallion Chief Buglar who had so much old Daniel Lambert behind him. This is proven breeding that produces correct, Baroque style, handsome, good minded, good moving Morgans made in the mode of the ancient ones.
Montezsierradon is 26 years old and just retired. He will be spending his retirement years with Sandra Moats - the original owner who always regretted selling him in the first place. In fact, Sandra is writing a book with the last chapter devoted to how 'Donny' came back to her. OGO has been honored to care for him in the short time he has been with us. We will miss you 'Donny'. |

Nova 1986 - 4/12/2005 Last night we had to put Nova, my dog, down. She has been my Miracle Dog-living way beyond, what a dog of her size should be able to do (she weighed about 80 lbs). She has survived 3 cancer surgeries. She has graced my life and blessed me. Oh, she had lost a lot and had restricted movement, but she was my Walking Dog--taking a walk every morning as I fed the horses & another walk at the dinner feeding. Sometimes she would walk during the day too. She loved her food and demanded her treats. |

GERONIMO - 'Mitch's Geronimo' Geronimo! He bore a famous warrior's name, and his beauty and mind to please were truly fit for a king. But to me, he was 'Gerimo'...my big, affectionate, baby horse who refused to grow up into the harsh realities of adulthood. With his 19 years he was still the most foal-like and playful horse I had ever encountered. He loved to love and be loved-whether it be other horses, or people... . |

Noble Lady and Her Circle of Life Her number was 023630 and she was born March 24, 1971and died on Feb 23, 2001. She was bred by William Montgomery of Elk Grove, CA, who was a brother in law of Hazel Sweden, one of the founders of the Sacramento Valley Morgan Horse Club and the show at Plymouth, CA. It was known as the Mother Lode All Morgan Horse Show for years. William and his wife leased some mares from the Circle H ranch at Bridgeport, CA, and bred them to some California stallions. Noble Lady was sold as a two year old to a couple in the Carson City area of Nevada who also raised Arabians. They bred her to their Arabian stallion and she had her first black filly for them. Sadly a divorce forced her to go through a sale and only by a stroke of luck did she end up in my area just long enough for me to hear about her and buy her.... |

Ember Bay Lady 1970 - 2000
By Moro Hills Medallion Bay Lady, also known as “Bright Eyes,” came into my life in the summer of 1980. I had become interested in the Lippitt Miss Nekomia horses for their beauty and their personality. Bay Lady, with two crosses to Miss Nekomia, was a true Nekomia horse and brought joy to my life for nearly 20 years. She was my first Morgan. |

Ember Serene 1976 - 2000
(Ember Medallion x Rosemont Gay Bess) It is difficult to know where to start, so perhaps the beginning would be best. Dave and I were looking for our first Morgan and found a breeder not too far from us. After visiting Ember Morgans, we had decided on a 10-year-old mare and were finalizing the sale when Bill George told us we really should have “that big filly in the back.” Dave went back to look at her better and after nearly an hour I went to look for Dave. He had gone back there, looked into her huge eyes, fallen in and never did come out. Serene and he were bonded in an instant and that lasted for all time. |

Reed's Fancy Lady 1986 - 2000 In July 2000, at age 14, Fancy Lady passed away suddenly and shockingly from acute, rapid onset enteritis, reminding us how truly fragile these horses are and that we should never take for granted the blessing of their presence in our lives. Fancy was born in 1986, at the Colorado farm of Everett Reed. Her sire, Reed’s Gallant Star, was sired by Gallant King (Flyhawk x Jubilee King daughter). Gallant Star was out of Cornwallis Pat, whose own outrageously beautiful head was inherited by Fancy. Fancy’s dam was Yola, a double granddaughter of Cornwallis. We first saw Fancy in October 1988, while visiting Mr. Reed to meet Gallant King. We were impressed with Gallant King and his son Gallant Star as well as the mare Yola. Fancy was a well-matured 2-year-old and truly named—she was indeed fancy. |
